The accomplishments on Dr. Nikhil Karanth’s resume are a testament to his lifelong pursuit of excellence. Well known and respected in the Northeast and given the distinction as a top physician in Gastroenterology in the United States by Castle Connolly, Dr. Karanth has made the move to bring what he knows best to serve the Las Vegas area and surrounding communities by making this area his new home. He is a compassionate, understanding Gastroenterologist who creates wonderful relationships with his patients, treating them as family, as his father, who is also a Gastroenterologist, taught him.
Educated at Boston University, Dr. Karanth received his postgraduate training at Albany Medical College and Brown University. He served as Chief of Gastroenterology and Director of Endoscopy at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island / Brown University educating medical students, residents, and Gastroenterology fellows alike. Dr. Karanth has presented countless times at national Gastroenterological conferences. He applies his skills to the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a full range of Gastroenterology and Hepatology issues, like peptic ulcer disease, reflux, Celiac disease, IBS, and liver disease. Among the procedures Dr. Karanth performs are colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, capsule endoscopy, small bowel enteroscopy, and ERCP.
Besides incorporating his knowledge, expertise, and compassion in treating his patients that he serves, Dr. Karanth has interests outside of Gastroenterology. He enjoys playing tennis, watching movies, and cycling.
He is a devoted father to his children and a loving husband.
